OTHER TRAININGS

We train pilots today, so they can operate in the world of aviation tomorrow! We offer a wide variety of trainings for the need of private and commercial aviation as well as customized trainings for other industry professionals. SL Flight training is one of the few flight academies in Finland training with both, aeroplanes and helicopters. We also offer various type trainings, refresher seminars for flight instructors (FI/IRI/TRI/CRIrefresher) and DL distance learning.

 

With SL Flight Training, you may also complete a private pilot's licence or various qualifications for your already existing pilot licence.It is also possible to apply for different courses without any flight experience at all, or an already experienced pilot will be credited for the course requirements according to the flight experience he already has.

PRIVATE PILOT LICENCE / PPL

 

Private pilot training is the first step towards a hobby or career in aviation. A Private Pilot Licence (PPL) entitles you to fly non commercially  in daytime conditions and in fair weather conditions. The licence can be supplemented with various qualifications, such as night, water or instrument flight qualifications.

COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENCE / CPL

​

The Commercial Pilot License (CPL) entitles its holder to act as a pilot in commercial aviation. In order to participate in the CPL course, you must have a private pilot licence and the night flight rating (NF). Most airlines also require the completion of Air Transport Pilot's theory training and MCC (Multi Crew Co-Operation course.

INSTRUMENT RATING  / IR

 

The instrument rating (IR) gives its holder the opportunity to fly according to the instrument flight rules (IFR) and in worse than visual flight conditions. The requirement to start the course is at least a private pilot's license and a night flight (NF) rating. The duration of the training is about five months.

PRIVATE HELICOPTER PILOT LICENCE /PPL(H)
​

The training of a helicopter private pilot, PPL(H), includes 110 hours of theory and a total of 45 hours of flight training on a Robinson R44 helicopter. The holder of a PPL(H) license has the right to act as pilot-in-command or co-pilot in a helicopter without compensation in a type of helicopter used in training in non-commercial flight operations.

COMMERCIAL HELICOPTER PILOT LICENCE / CPL(H)
​

Our Commercial Helicopter Pilot  / CPL (H)  consists of the required theory- and flight trainings, including 750 hours of theory and 135 hours of flight training. The training provides the skills and qualifications required to work as a helicopter pilot in commercial aviation or in aerial work. It is also possible to specialize in HEMS operations after the training and once necessary flight experience has been gained.

INSTRUMENT RATING FOR HELICOPTERS / IR(H)
​

After the course, the applicant achieves the rating to fly a helicopter according to the instrument flight rules up to a resolution height of 200 feet. The training includes 150 hours of theory and a total of 55 hours of flight training.

FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR REFRESHER SEMINARS

​

At the instructor refresher seminar, matters related to flight instruction are reviewed in order to renew a valid or expired flight instructor qualification (FI/IRI). The duration of the course is two days.

MULTI CREW CO-OPERATION TRAINING, MCC

​

In the MCC - Multi-Crew Co-operation training, the student learns to work as a cockpit crew on a plane with a crew of several pilots. The course includes 25 hours of theory and 20 hours of simulator training.
